Privacy policy

BetterTimetable is published by VladJ Software. It is an independent alternative to Wise Timetable designed for public Slovenian university schedules. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the universities, their faculties, or Wise Timetable.

Your app data

Downloaded timetables, selected groups, preferences, personal events and teacher arrival adjustments are stored on your device. BetterTimetable does not upload this app data to the developer. JSON backups and timetable exports are saved or shared only when you choose to export or share them. A backup can contain your personal events and choices.

Sharing with friends and the camera

My QR code shows a code with your Main profile's programme, groups, attendance and teacher arrivals, but not your personal events. The code is a link to this website with the timetable after the # sign; browsers never send that part to the website, and the page that opens it has no analytics. If the app isn't installed, the browser may keep the full link in its history.

Scan QR code uses the camera only while the scanner is open, and asks for camera permission the first time you open it. Camera images are read on your device to find the code and are not saved or sent anywhere. Choosing a photo instead reads only the photo you pick, and needs no permission.

Timetable downloads and update checks

The app connects to the selected public timetable source (Wise Timetable or a supported faculty timetable service) to download faculty and programme schedules, including automatically when the app starts or returns after a while. It also requests version files hosted on the developer's GitHub Pages website to check whether your release is supported and whether a newer major/minor release is available. These requests disclose your IP address and normal request information to the service receiving them; version requests identify the app and version. Your personal events and group selections are not included in version checks.

Opening a source timetable, Google Play or a website uses the corresponding service, which has its own privacy policy. BetterTimetable does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Closed testing and support emails

If you email vladjsoftware@gmail.com for tester access, the Google Play email address you provide is used to manage access to the closed test, including adding it to the tester list in Google Play Console. Support messages are used to respond to your request. Emails are handled through Gmail; tester access is managed through Google Play. You can request removal from the tester list by emailing the same address.

Deleting your data

You can remove local app data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. Any backup or export files you created separately must be deleted separately.
